Homesick by Caitlin Parker opening January 18th 2020
Homesick by Caitlin Parker features work that depicts abandoned spaces returning to the wild; places where homes are being reclaimed by the natural world. They highlight how tenuous our control of nature really is. In exploring the intersection between humans and nature, Parker is attempting to reframe the way we think about the concept of "home". Are we homesick for a specific time and place, or the home we are losing due to climate change and corporate greed. There is an element of hope and celebration in these works where nature appears to be winning out and reclaiming space. Parker is presenting works on fabric and paper made with natural dyes, water color and silk paint.
